I feel his pain. I lost my chocolate lab JJ 3 years ago. His best friend is Honey Bunny who is 8. When JJ passed we let her say good-bye to him.
Tom and I were in the living room waiting for the vet to open.

Tom and I wore crying and we heard a soulful cry. We looked down and it was our yellow lab crying with use.

May Caleb find peace and love.

I also experienced a great loss when I had to put my chow down due to bladder cancer and my pitbull woke me up at 3 am with the heart wrenching howl I have ever heard. I thought he was sick or something took him to the vet told him what happened and he explained to me that it was his death howl after realizing he had lost his "sister" that she was gone forever; makes me cry even now. It broke my heart even more. So he has a new sister now but oh my goodness how he grieved for his sissy.
